The art of burlesque was revived in the early 2000's in North America. Currently in Toronto there are at least half a dozen burlesque troups and scores of individual performers. There are public performances every month as well as at private and corporate functions. Some have banded together to form the Toronto Burlesque and Vaudeville Alliance.
What attracts me to burlesque are the colourful costumes, the dancing, and the exhuberant performances. Timing is everything in protography and burlesque provides me with a challenge.
